My most recent mancation was a great camping trip. One thing that threatened the fun, though, was that the guy who planned the trip (who was also the driver) didn't know how to get where we were going and didn't have a good map. Therefore, my tip is to bring a map and have some idea of how to get to your destination-- even if someone else is supposed to be responsible for those details.

I love mancations, but never had a word for it. My best friend from high school and I always mancation together, usually around some kind of sporting activity. Spring training, football games, brewery tours. Stuff like that. Our best trip was a Maine to Minnesota trip with 5 baseball games and a stop in Cooperstown along the way. It was our last trip together before he got married and one of the best weeks of my life. There is no better way to really get to know your friends than to spend 12 hours in a car with them.
