Virtual Reality at Level Up in MGM Grand Las Vegas

in Mancation Blog by James Hills

In Star Trek they have holodecks and we've experimented with Virtual Reality for decades now - but it's never been seamless. We're almost there though, and so I was very excited to be invited to be among the first to try out Virtual Reality at Level Up inside of MGM Grand Las Vegas. This is as close as we've come to being able to experience immersive virtual reality environments and it is…

Tips To Plan An Amazing Off The Grid Adventure Mancation

in Mancation Blog by James Hills

While I love technology and I'm a huge fan of urban mancations with all the luxuries that come along with that, sometimes it's good to go off the grid. Planning a rugged wilderness adventure far from technology will allow you and your buddies a chance to test your abilities and relax, without the constant vibration, beeps, and artificial lights of modern technology.

Rice and Company at Luxor Las Vegas

in Food and Drink by James Hills

One of my favorite things about visiting Las Vegas is the food scene. There's always something new and fun popping up and because of the competition, innovation is constant. On this most recent trip, we were invited to check out Rice & Company, a pan-Asian restaurant located right between Blue Man Group and Carrot Top's theaters inside of the Luxor resort at the south end of the strip. It's the…

in Stuff by James Hills

Halo - the company you might know better for it's Halo Board and other products has now entered the drone market as well and we think it looks really cool. They claim it is the "Best Drone" out there right now and we're looking forward to following up with an actual review shortly. However, we're pretty excited just based on the specs! With advanced features that make it user friendly for guys…

A Guys Getaway at Marriott Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert

There are many things that go into the process of planning for an awesome guys weekend and unfortunately that typically means a ton of compromises. However, one of my favorite types of lodging for a guys getaway is a vacation rental instead of a typical hotel. Generally I find that there is a…

Exploring Abandoned Gold Mines Near Joshua Tree California

The search for gold has driven men to do great (and terrible) things for longer than there has been written history to record the deeds. It's one of those pursuits that truly separates the men from the boys. When most people think about the California gold rush, images of miners in Northern…

Six NASCAR Sites You Must Visit in Charlotte North Carolina - Where Racing Lives

Visiting a favorite stadium, birthplace, or hall of fame is something that most sports fans dream of doing at some point in their lives. For most sports though, there is an inherent challenge with that since everything is so spread out. For instance, while Cooperstown might be a great place for…

With the hot days of summer rapidly coming to an end, it's time to start thinking about how you will be spending those cold winter days. For many of you that means spending time in the garage or shop getting home improvement projects done. Even if it's more of an excuse to spend some man time…

Teriyaki Pork Stir Fry Recipe

I love making stir fry because it's generally a healthy, fun, and colorful way to get a great meal quick, with relatively little mess. Generally all you need is a knife, cutting board, and a wok or stir fry pan and away you go!

Burgers and Beers at Islands in Palm Desert California

Islands is one of my favorite restaurants to take my friends and that's because the food is always good and while the classics never change, they always have new offerings to switch stuff up too. On our recent guys weekend to Palm Desert, California they invited us to stop by and fuel up as well as…

Kia Niro Road Trip Review

in Stuff

While I love horsepower and off road capability, there's something to be said for a practical car that is affordable, handles well, and has an amazing fuel economy. While a hatchback hybrid like the Kia Niro certainly isn't the sexiest car I've driven recently it performed incredibly well.…

While I love horsepower and off road capability, there's something to be said for a practical car that is affordable, handles well, and has an amazing fuel economy. While a hatchback hybrid like the Kia Niro certainly isn't the sexiest car I've driven recently it performed incredibly well. Considering that it got more miles per gallon than the three trucks I'd be driving later in the week COMBINED, that was pretty impressive! While I knew the Niro would be perfect around town ... what about going over mountains with tight turns and steep grades?
