Introducing the 2017 Hyundai Elantra

in Stuff by James Hills
I can't believe that we aren't even to the end of the first quarter of 2016 and Hyundai has already decided to launch the new 2017 Elantra. Lucky for me, I was one of the first people invited to test it out. I'm generally not a fan of compact cars except for when they pack a lot of muscle. This car however did impress me in a lot of ways.

Introducing the Octa Spider Monkey Tablet Stand

in Stuff by James Hills
One of the first reviews I ever did for this site was a product from Octa when they were just starting out. It was a quirky tablet suction cup mount for tablets with a whale's tail shaped kick stand. Since then, the company has grown and expanded but they've maintained their sense of humor and design acumen for creating ingenious solutions that are as fun as they are useful.

Rivea At Delano - Dining at the Top of the World in Vegas

in Stuff by James Hills
One of the things I love about Vegas is all the amazing restaurants. It seems there is a never ending supply of creativity that is both pushing the culinary as well as architectural arts. What I didn't expect was to find an astonishingly awesome dinner at the top of Delano on the far south end of the strip. That's where Rivea sits and offers diners an unparalleled view of the entire strip. They…

A Couples Road Trip with the Hyundai Tucson in Vegas

in Stuff
This is not a sponsored post, so I can say honestly that the Hyundai Tucson is currently one of my favorite cars to drive. It's small enough to be nimble but big enough to be comfortable and while it is missing some critical electronics (smart cruise control!) it comes as close to a perfect vehicle…

Ways To Make Shoveling Snow More Fun and Easy

in Stuff
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of SnowCast for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine. I hate shoveling snow - that's one of the reasons I moved to San Diego a couple years ago. The winters simply suck up north with winter storms and having to stock up with supplies like milk, bread,…

You've Asked, so Here it is: The Story of Why & How I Became a Blogger ...

in Stuff
This is a question I get on a pretty regular basis after I tell people what I do now. However, it seems that I have never really shared the story publicly about what motivated me to start not just this site but blogging in general. When I look back at my history along with stories from other great…

How to Save Even More Money On Your Gas Each Week

in Stuff
Even though gas is a lot lower today than it was a few months ago, it can always be cheaper. That's why I love Shell's new Fuel Rewards program - it helps members save at least 3 cents per gallon, just by swiping the free membership card or using the mobile app to make purchases. Even better is…

Keeping Your Brain Healthy and Your Mind Sharp

in Stuff
We’re always being told that we need to keep fit for our bodies. Whether it be to lose weight, keep diseases like diabetes at bay or improve the health of our hearts. It’s true that exercise will help with all of these, but did you know that keeping fit is also good for mental well being?

Introducing the Reverie Bed

in Stuff
Over the next few months, I'm going to be talking a bunch about my new bed that Reverie sent me. As you guys know, a bed is pretty important - even if we don't think about it that much. About two years ago I moved to San Diego and left my old bed in Chicago. At the time we were planning to just buy…

Luckily for us, the service and food was equally fantastic - making for one of the best dinners I've experienced in a long while.
