  • Tips To Start Your Sports Collection And Build It On A Budget

When the aged guys think of new, worthwhile hobbies golfing, fishing, or hunting usually come to mind. Others though seek to spend their time and money collecting - sports memorabilia, cars, even vintage toys that we enjoyed from our childhood. To our wives and partners, this may simply be seen as hoarding but collecting can be much more than that. Starting a collection is something that can be a rewarding pastime combining a passion for a subject, a way to decorate your personal spaces, and a mental exercise to keep you going in search of both knowledge and expertise. Unfortunately this hobby can take lots of time and money. Here's our tips for starting your sports collection on a budget.

  • Colorado ZR2 Midnight Edition Shines Bright on Mortero Wash

It's no secret that the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is my absolute favorite off road truck right now. This truck is the Goldilocks of trucks designed for off road adventurers looking for a an OEM experience that can deliver style and performance as well as still performing well on-road as well as off. Our previous adventure with the ZR2 though ended up getting preempted by a freak snowstorm as we were traveling through the mojave desert. This time though would be different. Instead of freezing temperatures in the mountains, we were braving 120+ temperatures at near sea level near Ocotillo,  California. In retrospect, a jet black truck in the bright sun with those temperatures might not have been the best idea. Luckily this was more than just an ordinary truck and it stayed nice and cool with the AC blasting!

  • Not Your Dad's Steakhouse - STK San Diego

I love a classic steakhouse. You know, the ones with dark leather booths, heavy shadows, and classic bourbon cocktails. STK San Diego is is not that kind of place! From the moment you walk in, it is very clear that this is not your dad's steakhouse. Instead, it's hip, light, and lively. There is even a DJ on some nights furthering the lounge atmosphere and the cocktails match this chic and trendy environment. Don't be fooled though - while it feels like a cocktail bar, the menu still offers huge steaks and classic sides. There's a sense of youth and urban energy here compared to the uber masculinity of a traditional steakhouse but it hasn't lost touch with why you ultimately chose to spend hundreds of dollars on an amazing meal. This vibe perfectly matches Andaz San Diego hotel where it is located and it is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

  • 2019 GMC Sierra Takes on Newfoundland and Labrador

My ticket to visit one of the four corners of the globe came courtesy of GMC, who recently invited me to drive its newest and most important creation: the 2019 Sierra. Newfoundland and Labrador is the easternmost province of Canada and a massive hub for pickup trucks of all makes and models—in fact, it seemed like everywhere I looked there was a GMC or Ford pickup. From the varying terrain to the extreme weather and the fishing/outdoorsy way of life, everything about the picturesque Canadian province oozes pickup truck and fishing.

  • Ultimate Cuba Getaway For Guys

Although it's only 90 miles from Florida, Cuba had severe travel restrictions for more than 60 years. In 2014, President Barack Obama lifted some of those restrictions and made it easier for Americans to visit the country. Between then and 2017, tourism was on the rise in the country. Now, in 2018, new restrictions set forth by the Trump Administration has some people confused, but the reality is that traveling to the area is still quite possible and popular. If you want to visit the country, it helps to know which areas have the most to offer.

  • JumpSmart Jump Starter, Power Bank, and Flashlight Review

There are a LOT of car gadgets out there, but few have earned themselves a spot in my "go bag" to take with me for road trips. This JumpSmart all-in-one Jump Starter, Power Bank, and Flashlight from Limitless Innovations is one of them. It not only combines three essential things to have in your car's emergency kit... but it also comes in a great package to keep everything safe and ready for when you need it.

  • Don The Beachcomber Original Mai Tai Recipe

When it comes to fruity tropical drinks, the classic Mai Tai is among the most iconic. It's the Pacific Islands version of the classic Caribbean Daiquiri... or is it? Ironically this classic drink actually originated in California during the tiki bar craze and while two men lay claim to having created it - I DON'T CARE - because the ones found at Don The Beachcomber are the best I've had. It's a more complex recipe and the time and effort is worth it. Here's the recipe so you can make it at home.

Whatever the scale of your space, there's always one constant - a need to stretch your budget while finding unique and awesome items that you are passionate about. In an ideal world we'd all be able to hire the guys from American Pickers to source unique items from us or simply head to a game room store. • Summer Road Trip In The Colorado Rockies With A Chevy Equinox

My history with the Chevy Equinox goes back to the very beginning... Heather and I saw one of the very first ones available during a road trip and knew THAT was the car we needed to buy. A few days later, our local dealership got their shipment and we got the second one off the truck. Flash forward a decade and the Equinox is one of Chevrolet's top sellers and here we are enjoying their latest version while flying around mountain roads exploring the Rockies in Colorado. This vehicle has always had a special place in my heart and I'm thrilled to say that Chevy has taken it from a "good car" to one that I would consider buying again.

The one hour lumberjack show features real ESPN competitive lumberjacks and it's fun for adults as well as kids.

  • Road Trip Review: 2018 Chevy Bolt EV

I'm a huge fan of electric vehicles. The promise of emissions free car travel that is both quick and quiet is something of a dream for simply cruising down the road and enjoying a beautiful landscape. Unfortunately, until recently EVs were expensive, had limited range, and in many cases were "Electric Vehicles" as opposed to cars powered by electric motors. That last point is a subtle distinction but an important one. While I enjoyed the promise of cars like the Kia Soul EV and the Mitsubishi iMIEV they were really products designed for a limited audience. With the Chevrolet Bolt EV, Chevy is offering a car that doesn't sacrifice anything.

  • Norwegian Joy Cruise Ship to Join NCL Bliss in Alaska

Alaska is on the bucket list for many people and I was privileged to join Norwegian Cruise Lines earlier this summer on a cruise to Alaska aboard NCL Jewel. This year, Norwegian upped the game by bringing their newest ship, Norwegian Bliss to the market and next year they are bringing it's sister ship Joy here as well. That means that this market once reserved for smaller, older ships will now have two of the biggest, and most feature packed ships cruising it together. While we'd return for a cruise aboard pretty much any ship - having go karts, laser tag, craft beer bars, and tons of other features on the ship can only make things that much better!

  • Mauna Kea Luau is a Romantic Night of Hawaiian Food and Culture

Attending a luau has been a must-do activity for visitors to Hawaii for generations. The word luau simply means "party" or "feast" but over the years the tradition has evolved into one of the most iconic tourist activities in Hawaii. The folks at Mauna Kea resort invited us to be their guest for the Mauna Kea Luau and we were impressed with both the quality (and quantity!) of food as well as the performance itself. Here's what to expect when you attend their luau...

  • Understanding Invisible Disabilities

When people hear or read the world disability they inevitably imagine a wheelchair or crutches. These outwardly visable disabilities are easy to spot and most people are extremely compassionate and accommodating, but what about someone who has a hidden disability? Are you quick to judge that someone is taking a spot they shouldn't be or receiving benefits that aren't due? It can be a challenge since many of us are wired to assume people are taking advantage of others but that isn't always the case.
