Race is a difficult topic to explore for most Americans and for far too many people, the word is a trigger that raises barriers that put people in a defensive position where they pretend things didn't happen. As someone who travels constantly, I've learned that this isn't just an American reaction - it is a human one. As I travel I must be open to my views challenged as I experience new things. By talking with different people I've been blessed to see, hear, touch, and taste a lot of different perspectives. Combined with my love of history, experiences like this have given me better context to understand complex issues. Even more so though, it has given me the understanding that most things have many sides. I encourage each and every one of you to make an effort to open your minds, visit sites like these and simply take the time to listen, learn, and explore history when you do.

Atlanta is easily one of the most interesting cities of the American South, at least for guys. The downtown area is home to more than 500,000 residents, and the larger Atlanta metro area boasts a diverse population of more than five million; this demographic pretty much guarantees that people will always find cool things to do and discover.

Most guys who are new to wine think of iconic destinations like Napa and Sonoma as the places to go for wine. While I am a huge fan of California wines... the reality is that there are great wine regions all over the country. Some such as Lake Michigan Shore have gained prominence in recent years, while others such as the Snake River Valley AVA just west of Boise are lesser-known. What's great about these "undiscovered wine country" getaways is that they tend to be less expensive, more relaxed, and offer other opportunities to build a perfect getaway without making wine the singular focus.

Sea Pines Resort, opened more than 50 years ago, has been, and continues to be, the ultimate golf destination in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

When it comes to planning a father and son weekend getaway, it's important to have a good mix of options including education and heritage as well as just down right fun. Atlanta is one of those cities that has tons of opportunities like that! From fun learning at the World of Coca Cola and CNN Center to thrill rides at Six Flags, your guys weekend in Atlanta is going to be one to remember.

Last weekend Victor from Male Standard joined me on a road trip from Atlanta to Nashville in an incredibly fun Titan XD truck. Along the way we ate BBQ, drank beer and whiskey (while not driving!), threw axes, and celebrated the boys of fall starting with the College Football Hall of Fame and ending in the Nissan Suite for a Titans game in Nashville.

As you know, we were down in Savannah a few months ago and had a blast!

Savannah is sort of like a mini-New Orleans (and I mean that in a good way... btw I love New Orleans for guys trips too... even outside of Mardi Gras season).

As the leaves up north start to turn shades of red and brown, down south the humidity is dropping and the weather is getting nice and cool again, so it is time to explore Savannah's ghostly past.
