Usually, when we think about museums, it is boring stuff that our wives drag us to but that doesn't have to be the way it is. Automobile museums make for a great excuse for a road trip and can be fun for an easy guys weekend or even a family getaway. Here's some of our favorite destinations around the United States as well as internationally.

This weekend I had a chance to look back at some of the fun trips that I've taken over the years and right up there in the top 20 were I discovered a pattern - I really like the freedom of going fast, getting dirty, and having fun with my friends while exploring new places. While there's an undeniable level of comfort sitting in a fully enclosed truck or SUV, some of my favorite adventures were spent strapped into a Polaris RZR.

It's no secret that despite the brand's lofty positioning, in the most recent generation of premium trucks, GMC's Denali slipped a bit in comparison to offerings from other manufactures. As a response and to solidify GMC as the well... ultimate... luxury truck producer, they've come back this year with the introduction of the 2022 GMC Sierra Ultimate.

GMC has been one of our absolute favorite truck brands for almost as long as we've been doing automotive features here on ManTripping. They've earned that respect because they continually merge the two things that I think most guys look for when it comes to a set of wheels - rugged utility and ultimate comfort that is wrapped up in a stylish package.

The long awaited all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra is finally here and we had a chance to test it out on some trails in San Diego, patrolling the southern border as well as prowling some of Southern California’s highways. Our summary judgment - Toyota has delivered exactly what they needed to keep existing customers excited about the brand and attract some swing customers with long awaited updates that make this one of our favorite trucks available today.

I can summarize this review of Cadillac's CT5V Blackwing very quickly - if you love power, luxury, and American style then you shouldn't miss out on what is certainly the the last of its kind. The era of big V8 engines pumping out ridiculous amounts of horsepower is closing quickly. Anything approaching this price point (~$100k) and certainly it's level of refinement will almost certainly have some level of electrification. While I can't wait to see what designers and engineers can do with electric motors in the future... it just isn't the same excitement as crushing the pedal on a big V8 and hearing it roar to life in a way that will turn heads... even a couple blocks away.

Let's just get this out of the way, the CT4-V Blackwing is a powerful vehicle in a very compact (subcompact) package... it is also not a car for truck-sized guys like me. As such I honestly felt a bit awkward reviewing it in the way where you know it can do more than you're physically able to accommodate safely. That sucks because this is a very fun little car that offers a unique curve hugging nimbleness that you'd otherwise find only in a vehicle such as the Corvette.

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is more than just a luxury SUV. It takes all the best elements inherent to the Jeep brand and wraps them up into an unbelievably posh but high-performance vehicle. Some people might be familiar with past iterations of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. They likely have fond memories of the wood trim and hybrid station wagon-SUV look. While the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has a much different overall appearance than it’s elders, it embodies the same combination of ruggedness and civility.

New trucks are coming to a dealer near you - maybe. This year’s Chicago Auto Show, and other shows, may be your only shot to see/touch the hottest ‘22 vehicles in person. While this year’s show takes up less floor space, and features fewer manufacturers than previous years, it is still thee show for the latest trucks, SUVs, commercial vehicles, and growing contingent of EVs. No major debuts this year, but there were numerous limited production/trim debuts and first-time public displays of previously revealed all-new models. Minivans aren't sexy or cool... right? Well not exactly. While minivans of your youth were more focused on utility than comfort, technology and design, today's current generation of minivans - especially the 2022 Toyota Sienna are a different breed. While utility is still paramount, minivans are truly my top choice of vehicle for long road trips where you'll be riding only on paved roads. Just because the roads are paved though doesn't mean you can't have a great adventure though and that's what we did while exploring Southwest Florida Everglades with a Toyota Sienna.

When people ask me why I like minivans so much for road trips the answer is easy - they are practical, drive nicely, and park easily. I'm not always looking for the most stylish and technology filled solution when my objective is getting from here to there with a bunch of bags and people. On a recent road trip through the Eastern part of Florida's Everglades with the all-new 2022 Kia Carnival I was extraordinarily impressed since not only did it have everything I expected from a minivan... it also looked great and had plenty of creature comforts too.

Toyota's Land Cruiser is one of the most iconic vehicles that I've ever driven. From a purely objective perspective, the 2021 model year Land Cruiser was expensive, slow, horrendously fuel inefficient but it was also one of my favorite SUVs to drive. Sadly, while the rest of the world is getting an updated model on a completely new platform... here in the United States we only have our memories and dreams of what might have been.

Volkswagen's ID.4 was both one of the most exciting EVs that I had a pleasure to drive this year as well as one of the most frustrating and confusing. Ultimately though, many of the things that detracted from what ultimately could be one of the best EV options on the market today are "quirky" design elements that I've found in other VW vehicles... though in those, tech is less core to the experience and are easy to adapt to over time.

The Lexus LC 500 is hands down my favorite luxury sports car available today and with the addition of the soft-top convertible it makes it that much better and more enjoyable. While there are other vehicles that boast more horses, more space, more comfort, or other metrics... many of them cost far more and none of them wrap everything in such a perfect package as Lexus does with the LC 500 convertible.

Toyota is still the master of hybrid cars and crossovers and when the current generation of RAV4 launched in 2019, we were immediately drawn to the hybrid version. Not only did it offer a more exciting driving experience but it also offered the obvious boost in mpgs too. Now, with the RAV4 Prime, Toyota takes it to the next level with a combined 302 hp, 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and an EPA-estimated 42 miles of range on battery alone... resulting in an EPA-estimated 94 MPGe!

For many visitors to Las Vegas, the strip is where it's at... some even venture downtown to explore Fremont street but there is actually much more to explore here on some fun and easy day trips. One route that I've somehow never taken the opportunity to explore is a loop that includes Valley of Fire State Park and Hoover Dam. Here's why you should check this area out too!
