Who said the south is the only place for great BBQ? Certainly not the people at The Kitano New York Hotel! They have put together an awesome sounding series of rooftop BBQ packages for almost any taste - from the Original Tar Beach experience to Brazilian Churrasco, or even the classic New England Clam Bake.

This is really targetted at something larger than your typical mancation (25 person min.) but if you have a bunch of college buddies an are looking for something cool, this might be just the thing!

Celebrate Labor Day with a no-fuss rooftop BBQ. Forget the Hamptons beach barbecue, city slickers can relax and unwind with The Kitano New York Hotel’s BBQ package now through end of the year, weather permitting.  Back in the day, New Yorkers living vertically, with fire escapes as balconies, would often go up to the roof to cool down or catch some rays.  They would refer to this practice as “Going to Tar Beach,” in reference to tarred roofs.

The Kitano New York Hotel invites you to take a load off on Labor Day by grilling it for you with its BBQ packages that include grilled favorites (Tar Beach) to the beloved seafood grill (The Manhattan Clam Bake).  Cost effective BBQ packages range from $75 - $185 per person and includes menu options, tropical drinks, beer, sangria, and red and white wines.  It is available throughout the summer to fall (weather permitting).

High above New York’s most fashionable avenue, The Kitano New York Hotel’s spacious rooftop, one of the city’s premier outdoor rooftop venues, offers east and west views, and unadulterated views to the north of the Empire State, MetLife and Chrysler buildings.  A garden sky oasis, the terraces feature comfortable outdoor furnishings.  Separating the eastern and western terraces is an enclosed penthouse banquet room which can be set-up to suit guests’ preference.  Many guests opt to add live music to BBQ which can take place in the penthouse.

The cost effective package is available for minimum 25 people and can accommodate up to 90.  With this offer, guests will enjoy exclusive use of the venue and can choose from four barbecue menu options: “The Original Tar Beach”, “The Manhattan Clam Bake,” “The Churrasco,” and “The Hitching Post.” “The Rooftop Manhattan Clam Bake” offers items such as fresh littleneck clams, Blue Point oysters and whole Maine lobster. All packages also offer a variety of salads and sides, condiments and a choice of beverages, including alcoholic beverages such as bottled beer and red and white sangria.  Chefs prepare BBQ over open grill at a rate of $185.
