Legendary Movie Mancations That You Can Try Too
Mancations are special - it's an opportunity to bring your guy friends together to help solve problems in your life and lend support. What often happens as well as that you get some great memories and build stronger bonds between you and your friends.
That's what these movies are about. While some may be more raunchy than others, at the end it's all about coming together and improving our lives.
Like all real-world mancations, the guys in these movies have a variety of different reasons for taking off on their adventures and while not everything here is advisable, I think this is a great opportunity to get some inspiration for your very own mancation adventures!
Four guys set off on a bike road trip across the country looking for an adventure and find it and more, including bull slapping, biker bar fights, and plenty of raunchy humor.
Hot Tub Time Machine
Hot Tub Time Machine starts off like a lot of the movies on this list with a guys weekend ski trip but their adventure quickly takes them on a trip back to correct the problems in their lives when they are transported back in time to the 80's.
A group of urban middle age guys need an escape from the troubles of their everyday life and decide to head off to a working dude ranch for a cowboy style adventure on a real western cattle drive as their choice of a mancation.
The Hangover barely needs a description but it is the quintessential "Vegas Bachelor Party" movie and while we don't condone some of the actions here it would be fun to recreate some of the Wolfpack's adventures!
This essentially is another bachelor party mancation with all the debauchery you can imagine from a trip to Atlantic city. While we like The Hangover better, this is a great addition to our list as well.
Canoeing in the backwoods of West Virginia with friends ... what could possibly go wrong? Just watch the trailer or even better check out the movie and meet some of the local residents for yourself!
While taking a Caribbean cruise isn't as popular of a guys getaway destination as Vegas or a road trip, it's still a great idea - just make sure you don't piss off your travel agent when you make the reservation or you might end up like these guys!
Four guys set out to Vegas to celebrate a friend's bachelor party ... this may be a cliched premise but what's great about this movie is that it shows that no matter how old you are there is always time to have one last adventure with your best friends.
Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper set off on a motorcycle trip across America to see the search for the true meaning of America while finding meaning in their own lives through adventures across the country and defining the cultural shifts of 1960's American culture.
This is a classic alternative to "Vegas" movies as Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church set off for an adventure through the Santa Ynez wine region and the coast of Southern California for Golf, food, wine tasting, riding motorcycles.
Without a Paddle
Three friends set out on canoe trip and experience a series of hilarious and gross adventures as they work to find their way back to civilization.
The Bucket List
A couple of great friends are dying but before they do, it's time for one last adventure to cross some adventures off their "Bucket List" including going skydiving, racing classic cars, traveling to Italy, and riding a motorcycle along the great wall of China.
While mancations by definition are all about the guys, that doesn't mean that a fun girl can't be an honorary "one of the guys" for the trip!
Ok, so maybe you won't be able to set off into space, but I included this because one of the great things about a mancation is being able to finally accomplish something with your friends that you have been dreaming about forever.
As you can see from all of these movies, a mancation is a great opportunity to not just have fun with some friends, but a great adventure also helps to strengthen the bonds between those friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.
