Sadly, over the past ten years, I seem to see more and more veterans in wheelchairs or with artificial limbs. Others have even more severe injuries. These aren't "old guys" with normal ailments, but younger guys too ... ones that have sacrificed their youth and vibrancy for the relative peace and prosperity that we enjoy at home. While I think most of us welcome them in our hearts - it is sometimes difficult to express our gratitude to veterans in general ... and only gets more awkward when they happen to be disabled. Hopefully these tips will help make things easier the next time you are in a meeting, dinner party, or simply sitting next to each other while waiting for the bus to work.

SanDisk is a brand that I trust with my stuff and over the years I seem to be creating more and more content from more and more devices, so it was exciting to learn about the great new products that SanDisk presented at CES this year. Echoing some of my previous posts about CES, SanDisk is similarly focused on developing solutions for making tech "livable".

At a certain point, technology becomes "good enough" and you stop needing more megapixels, more memory, and faster chips. While I'm sure we'll find some reason to start pushing again, but I feel that technology has gotten to the point where it's stopped being the realm of the geek ... and entered a phase where it's truly personal. In a weird way though, it seems that the foreign companies are leading this - especially in the mobile arena. Companies such as Huawei launched some great new products such as women's versions of their smart watch - and also brought the gold version of the Nexus 6P to the US as well.

To be completely fair, all movies are a product of their times. What made Star Wars great in the beginning, was its ability to meld groundbreaking special effects with compelling narrative drawing from timeless story lines. For the prequels they were a product of an industry drunk on CGI but immature to the point of not really understanding when to use computer graphics and when it would simply look better to have real props. The movie I watched yesterday morning is similarly a product of its time. That's not completely a bad thing but it did leave an awkward taste in my mouth despite it being generally a fun movie to watch.

What do you get that guy who has everything? He already has the latest gadgets, the best clothes, and a collection of Scotch whisky's that rivals the bar down the street. The simple answer is what every guy has thought about at one point or another - prestige in the form of a real legal title. "Doctors" are a dime a dozen these days, but how many Lords, Lairds, and Ladies do you know? Now you can give someone that honor easily and it's totally affordable.
