# Secret Santa Gifts for the Fantasy League and the Guys Trip Crew *By James Hills — Updated November 2026* Secret Santa gifts for a fantasy football league or a guys trip group work best when the budget is fixed, the names are drawn early, and each gift ties back to the thing that brought the group together: the draft, the annual lake weekend, the group text that never goes quiet. The short version is a $20 to $30 cap that includes shipping, names drawn by the weekend after Thanksgiving, and gifts that show up again at next season's draft or on the next trip. **Questions****How To Run The Name Draw When The Group Lives In Different States****Article Index** If your league or trip group is spread across a few states, settle the draw and the delivery plan before anyone shops. - **Draw names online** - A free Secret Santa generator sends each guy a private link with his name, so nobody has to trust the commissioner with a hat full of paper. - **Block the obvious pairs** - Many generators let you exclude matches, so brothers or roommates who already swap gifts do not draw each other. - **Pick a ship-to address** - Have out-of-town gifts shipped to whoever hosts the party, and ask senders to mark the box with the recipient's name, not their own. - **Collect one wish-list line** - Ask each guy for one thing he is into right now and one thing he does not want, then share it with his Santa only. - **Plan for remote guys** - Anyone joining by video opens his gift on camera, so the group still sees the reaction. 1. A budget-first finder from [GiftExperts](https://giftexperts.com/tools/secret-santa-gift-finder/) narrows that down. Set the spending limit, tick a couple of interests such as Sport and golf or Gadgets, and it returns a short list of picks inside the price range. Treat that list as the starting point, then add the inside joke only your group would get. ## A $20 to $30 Cap, Shipping Included, Keeps Every Gift in the Same League An uneven exchange makes a [guys night](https://www.mantripping.com/travel/guys-night-out-ideas-fun-activities-and-things-to-do.html) awkward in a hurry. One guy brings a bottle of single malt, another brings a gas station scratch-off. Pick one number and post it in the chat. For most leagues and trip groups, $20 to $30 works: enough to buy something useful, low enough that the guy juggling a mortgage and a packed work calendar does not have to think twice. Spell out that the cap includes shipping, because that is where most overspending sneaks in. ### Explore America's Great Inland Sea On Great Lakes Cruises There's more to cruising than the west coast cruises we love so much. A $50 limit opens up better gear, but only if every member agrees to it up front. ## Fantasy League Gifts That Keep the Trash Talk Going Into Next Season A fantasy league already runs on rivalry, so the best gifts feed it. If the guy you drew once started a kicker on a bye week, or traded away a player who went on to win someone else the title, that is your material. - **A framed screenshot of his worst loss** - Print the matchup score, put it in an inexpensive frame, and hand it over with a straight face. - **Draft-day supplies** - A pack of draft board labels, a cheat-sheet clipboard, or a bag of his favorite snacks for the next draft night. - **A weekly high-score trophy** - Small resin trophies are often under $20, and the winner holds it until someone beats his number. - **A clearance tee of his biggest bust** - A discounted shirt with last year's disappointing first-round pick on it fits the cap and needs no card. If the league already travels for its draft, these gifts double as props for that weekend. The guide to planning a [fantasy football draft weekend](https://www.mantripping.com/stuff/fantasy-football-draft-guys-weekend-planning.html) covers how groups turn draft day into a full trip. ## Man Gear Pick of the Month November's Pick Amazon (affiliate) ### COROS Pace 4 Pro GPS Sport Watch Why we picked it: a screen big and bright enough to double as a photo frame, a titanium and sapphire build that came through a month of daily wear without a scratch, and battery life that still runs weeks between charges. Think about where the group goes every year, whether that is a cabin in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, a fishing weekend with the guys in northern Wisconsin, or a golf trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In a budget-based gift finder, that usually means ticking Travel and outdoors alongside Sport and golf. - **A waterproof phone pouch** - Cheap, useful on any boat, and easy to skip buying for yourself. - **A rechargeable headlamp** - A solid one often costs under $30 and lives in a duffel bag for years. - **Golf balls with a group logo or inside joke** - Custom printing on a small order can fit the cap if you order early and compare shipping. - **A deck of waterproof playing cards** - Built for the dock, the pontoon, and the card game that runs past midnight. - **An insulated tumbler** - It keeps coffee hot on a cold dock and drinks cold on a hot one. Write the destination and the year of the next trip on the tag, so the gift goes straight into that trip's bag. ## Gag Gifts Get Retold for Years When They Point at One Moment the Group Shares Generic gag gifts, the novelty socks and joke mugs from a holiday aisle, get a polite laugh and end up in the trash by New Year's. Aim at something that happened instead. If your guy slept through a 6 a.m. tee time, a loud travel alarm clock fits. If he got lost walking back from the bar, a pocket compass does the job. The guy who forgot his wallet at a bachelor party gets a cheap money clip with a single dollar already in it. For mixed groups, pair the gag with something usable: a joke on top, a headlamp or tumbler underneath, all inside the same $25. ## Draw Names by the Weekend After Thanksgiving and Swap Gifts at a December Watch Party Scheduling a separate party in December, between married life, travel and holiday events with work colleagues, is how half the group ends up mailing gifts with a text that says "sorry, next year." Draw names by the weekend after Thanksgiving at the latest and set a ship-by date around December 10, then check it against the [USPS holiday shipping deadlines](https://www.usps.com/holidayshipping/) for anyone sending from out of state. That leaves roughly two weeks to shop and ship, with room for a backordered item. Then attach the exchange to something already on the calendar. A December Sunday watch party works well, since late-season games carry fantasy playoff stakes and the group is already in one room. Pull up the [NFL schedule](https://www.nfl.com/schedules/) to pick the Sunday with the best early game, then open gifts at halftime so the late window stays free for football. For ideas on running that kind of afternoon, see these ways to make [watching football at home](https://www.mantripping.com/stuff/creative-ways-that-you-can-make-watching-football-more-interesting-at-home.html) more fun. If the group prefers a white elephant swap with steals, cap the steals at two per gift so the game does not eat the whole second quarter. ## Write a Drop-Out Rule Into the Group Text Before Anyone Draws a Name Every group exchange eventually loses a guy after the draw to a work trip, a family emergency, or a December that got away from him. A rule that holds up: anyone who drops out before December 1 triggers a quick redraw, and anyone who drops out after that still sends the gift he owes and still gets one shipped to the host. Ask every Santa to tuck a gift receipt in the box, so a duplicate tumbler or the wrong shirt size can go back without anyone asking awkward questions.
