I do this regularly with Google Opinion Rewards to get credits that I can use to buy games and movies but there are other options out there where you can actually earn cash. We also love Toluna who's survey points can be redeemed for gift cards and other items.
Sell Your Junk (or not so junk) Car ...
It might not be the best choice to sell your perfectly working car, but even that one sitting on blocks in the driveway has SOME value. Plus, you'll probably feel good getting rid of it. Obviously, you'll get more money the better condition the vehicle is in but there's scrap and parts value in old cars too. Sell Your Old Phone or Other Gadgets ...
If you are anything like me, you've got tons of gadgets and old phones laying around. I don't know why I collect these things but I have three old android phones and an iPad 2 sitting in my desk drawer right now collecting dust. There are a variety of places online that you can sell them but I love the EcoATM kiosk at my local Ralphs store. Just find the item on the screen, place it into the machine and it gives me cash on the spot. Not only does this work for old phones but also things like MP3 players and tablets too.
Drive Lyft or Uber ...
Being a rideshare driver isn't easy and it isn't terribly lucrative. What I like about it though is that it is a great way to make extra money quickly and have it deposited to my bank account almost immediately. For instance, I can work a few hours on a Friday afternoon and earn $100 and then deposit it into my account that evening. That means that I can have the money I need for those last minute gifts this weekend ... or just a night out with the guys!
