# At Greenhorn Ranch Adults-Only Summer Camp You'll Be Able To Rediscover Your Inner Child *By James Hills — Updated July 2025* Remember the pure joy of summer camp? The thrill of trying new activities, making instant friendships around a bonfire, and that satisfying exhaustion from a day packed with adventure? Those carefree days don't have to be just childhood memories. Greenhorn Ranch in Quincy, California, is bringing back that magic with their inaugural Adults-Only Summer Camp from September 25-29, 2025. This isn't your typical California guys trip. While most of us associate summer camp with childhood, there's compelling science behind why adults crave and benefit from similar experiences. As grown-ups, we've lost the art of unstructured play, genuine brotherhood, and the simple pleasure of trying something new without worrying about our day jobs. ## Horseback Riding, Whiskey Tastings, and Poker Tournaments in the Lost Sierra Nestled in California's "Lost Sierra" region, this 608-acre working dude ranch transforms into the ultimate cowboy guys getaway for grown men who aren't afraid to get their boots dirty. For five days, you'll trade your daily grind for horseback riding through the Sierra Nevada, testing your aim on archery and skeet shooting ranges, and exploring over 500,000 acres of public lands on fat-tire electric mountain bikes. ### Why Men Who Love Alaska Cruises Should Try a Canada and New England Cruise This Year Men's Alaska cruise alternative: Canada New England maritime heritage, craft beer, lobstering expeditions and military fortresses. The forest immersion aspect, backed by research on "forest bathing," naturally reduces stress and lowers blood pressure through reconnection with nature's rhythms. Perhaps most importantly, the camp environment encourages guys to embrace something we've largely abandoned: trying new things without fear of looking foolish. Whether you're a complete novice at fly fishing or ready to test your rodeo skills, the supportive atmosphere makes experimentation feel natural and exciting. While the ranch offers WiFi and cell service, the packed itinerary naturally encourages a healthier relationship with technology. You'll find yourself putting the phone down not because you have to, but because you're too busy crushing it at skeet shooting or planning your next trail ride. ## From Gold Rush Goat Farm to California's Premier Adult Playground Just 90 minutes from Reno, Nevada - Greenhorn Ranch has been perfecting the art of adventure since 1962. What started as a humble goat farm during the Gold Rush has evolved into one of the premier destinations for California guys trips. The ranch takes the "all-inclusive" concept seriously with three hearty ranch meals daily fueling your adventures, and everything from activities to entertainment seamlessly handled. At $2,133 per person for the five-day experience (plus 18% resort fee and taxes), it's an investment in rediscovering what makes life exciting. The all-inclusive nature means no surprise costs, just pure adventure and genuine brotherhood. Reservations are now open using promo code ADULT CAMP. You can book online or call 530-283-0930 or visit the [Greenhorn Ranch website](https://greenhornranch.com) for more details. With limited spots available for this inaugural event, the main question isn't whether you can afford to go but whether you can afford to miss the chance to remember what it feels like to be genuinely excited about tomorrow's adventures with your crew. Sometimes the best way forward is to remember what made us happiest when we were young. This cowboy guys getaway offers exactly that opportunity, minus the bug juice and homesickness.
