However, what it does have is an amazing collection of restaurants, bars, historic sites, music venues, and a heritage of hospitality that while evolved from it's days as the Capital of the Confederacy ... still exudes a strong sense of southern charm. Richmond Raceway is less than 20 minutes from downtown, and its legacy as a half-mile dirt track, which originally opened in 1946, is obvious. While it has been expanded to .75 miles today, unlike the big modern speedways - Richmond Raceway is a tight track with great visibility and fabulous amenities for a group of guys - for instance a retirement party or [bachelor party](https://www.mantripping.com/bachelor-party-ideas.html).   ## Exciting Outdoor Activities Bursting with natural beauty and adventure opportunities, Richmond offers an abundance of exciting outdoor activities for you and your buddies to enjoy.
