  • Insider Tips to Save Money at the Ball Game

As a Padres member I attend a LOT of baseball games. I love the sport. For most people, the tickets are just a small fraction of the total cost of going to the game I've gotten good at being frugal. A trip to the concession stand can easily set you back $15 per person and that adds up over the course of a season. It's a tough challenge because everywhere you look you are assaulted by opportunities to spend money on souvenirs, food, drinks, and other things. These are a few of my favorite tips to help you save money and be more healthy at the ball game. The good news is that while this is specifically about baseball - most of these tips will work great for other sporting events such as football, hockey, and basketball too.

  • Five Ways to Watch Football Without Having to Deal With Family

It's that time of year again - friends and family gather and according to Rockwellian lithographs everything is supposed to be full of joy and excitement. I'm here to state the obvious... that's all a bunch of BS created by marketers to put people in the mood to buy more stuff! At the end of the day, while family is fun it's often best to do Thanksgiving out at a restaurant and the just go somewhere else to watch the games.

  • I Had a Ball During My Stay at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort

When I visit Disney World, one of my favorite parts is their resort hotels. While this is considered an afterthought at many attractions, Disney takes as much care and planning with where you sleep as they do with how you spend your day. Luckily, while there are some incredibly expensive hotel options at Disney World there are also plenty that are affordable and just as fun. A couple years ago I stayed at Pop Century and this year I decided to check out Disney's All Star Sports Resort during a quick stop at the park.

  • Football, Food & Fun On Barcelona City Breaks

Right now, FC Barcelona is the best football team in the world just behind Real Madrid. No team in the major European leagues scores more goals than Barca, it has the most accurate passers in the League and it's home to a certain trio with the names Messi, Neymar and Suarez. While you're in the capital of Catalonia, your ideal Barcelona city breaks should include watching a match, or at least taking a tour around the Camp Nou stadium, going out for good food and beer then getting up the next day to see what else this winning city has to offer.

  • Yes, You Can Camp in the Padres Outfield!

This is the stuff that dreams are made of - the chance to sleep on the outfield grass of a real MLB team! I am constantly impressed by the Padres organization for offering its membership great opportunities to get even closer to the team and this is no exception. My only suggestion is that they should do this event again - but just for adults and pair it with the Padres Beerfest. However, as a family friendly event, the Padres hit a home run and it's something you should consider doing next year if you are a Padres member like I am.

  • Fitness Tips for Running In Winter

Sure, the weather is great outside right now, but that doesn't mean that now isn't the time to start planning for the winter snow that is just around the corner. Bummer, yeah I know!

Winter is a period when time slows down and laziness sets in. It can be easy to blame your laziness on the weather and kick back and stay indoors but your body is not going to be easy on you just because it’s cold outside. We often sit through the season and find ourselves completely out of shape at the end of winter. Well, it doesn’t have to be that way. Winter can be a great opportunity to engage in an activity that you usually won’t be able to indulge in.

  • Authentic Baseball Gifts from Steiner Sports

Opening Day is happening all across the country this week and I personally couldn't be more excited that baseball season is back again. There is something special about this time of year and frankly, no other sport can match the feeling of going to a ballpark to watch your favorite teams compete against each other. Baseball is something visceral at the center of the American soul - it is the sights, the sounds, the food, the smells, and the experience of sitting there with your best friends and family members throughout the summer. On top of this experience, it's something that is affordable for virtually every American. While going to a rock concert, a hockey game, or a football game may set you back $50-$100 for tickets alone, baseball tickets at most parks can be had for $25 or less per person.

This is why sports memorabilia and in particular baseball memorabilia makes such great gifts for father's day, graduation, promotion, or just because. It's about memories and celebrating life in a way that nothing else out there can possibly even come close.
