Why Explore California's Central Coast Region For A Bachelor Party?

FIrst off, let's take a look at the regiion that we're talking about. It's a broad collection of communities that I've lumped together here that is surprisingly accessible to most of California's population and can be enjoyed by other guests joining the group from the Bay Area (San Francisco / San Jose) or Southern California (Los Angeles). To many folks who have never been here, the area would otherwise seem like a black hole of nothing to see aside from maybe the iconic PCH road trip along the coast or the legendary monotony of the 5 going through the Central Valley.

Between there though, you have a series of fascinating towns and villages that on their own merit an extended stay - but collectively can make for a fun and unique bachelor party road trip.

Restaurants - BBQ, Burgers, Seafood, & Beyond!

There's so much good food to be found everywhere you look in California's central coast towns. In case you haven't figured it out here, people in towns in this area of California pride themselves on craftsmanship and quality - this is just as true for food as it is wine and beer! We've deliberately left out some high-end fancy options and instead selected some of our more favorite "casual" offerings where you can go with a group of guys and just have a great time.

  1. Hitching Post Casmalia
    • Location: Casmalia, CA
    • Website: Hitching Post Casmalia
    • Interesting Aspect: Famous for its traditional Santa Maria-style barbecue, this restaurant offers a rustic and authentic dining experience. It's perfect for those who appreciate hearty meals and a historic ambiance, as the restaurant has been operating since 1952. Inside the bar area is a tribute area to NASA and space flight as a tribute to it's guests that work in and around Vandenburg Space Force Base near by and if you wonder how fresh the beef being served here is ... just look across the street at the ranch and you just may be looking at tomorrow's ribeye!
  2. Swiss BBQ Restaurant
    • Location: Santa Maria, CA
    • Website: The Swiss Restaurant
    • Interesting Aspect: While the name is confusing, this isn't a fondu resturant. Instead, it is one of the best spots for Santa Maria-style BBQ and fire grilled artichokes.
  3. Hitching Post Wines and HP2
    • Location: Buellton, CA
    • Website: Hitching Post Wines
    • Interesting Aspect: This is actually two places next to each other but I am more in favor of the outdoor lunch - sandwiches and wine at Hitching Post Wines than I am the more formal dinner restaurant made famous for its appearance in the movie "Sideways." Regardless, this is a manditory stop for wine enthusiasts and movie buffs alike, offering a unique blend of cinematic history and culinary delights. NOTE - while the name is similar, Hitching Post and Hitching Post 2 are owned by different people from the same family and menus as well as preparation of familiar items can differ significantly.
  4. Peasants Feast
    • Location: Solvang, CA
    • Website: Peasants Feast
    • Interesting Aspect: Known for its innovative and seasonal menu, Peasants Feast offers a modern twist on comfort food. It's a great spot for those who enjoy creative cuisine in a cozy and welcoming setting. If you've ever wanted to dine at a Michelin Stared restaurant but weren't sure you could afford it - here's your chance. Owner's Michael and Sarah are absolute foodie rock stars and two of the nicest people you will ever meet. We can't say enough about how great this place is, so just go ... now!
  5. Pismo Fish and Chips
