# Hillsound Crampons Are My Secret Weapon Against Icy Terrain *By Aaron Turpen, mantripping.com — Updated February 2025* As winter approaches, there’s few things more essential than a sturdy pair of trail crampons for hiking, running, or simply walking across packed snow and ice. I mean what’s more literal about freedom than how you move on two feet? ## Crampons = Freedom From Slipping and Sliding on Ice   ## All the Confidence Money Can Buy Slipping easily over shoes or boots you already own, putting on crampons is like turning your feet into an off-road vehicle.
