Packing Entertainment For A Guys Trip

We all know a guys’ weekend away is packed with fun, whatever you’re doing and however it’s taking shape… but there are moments when, let’s face it, there’s nothing much going on. That’s true even if you’ve got a great itinerary, long bike rides, boat trips, casino evenings, wine tasting, and more ahead of you. No matter how carefully you plan, little pockets of time often appear, and you need to know how to fill them.

But you’re not going to want to cart huge games systems around with you. We’ve therefore put together our top suggestions for what you should take on a short break to ensure that all downtime is as fun as it can be. We’re going to cover both single-player solutions and multiplayer options - meaning that no matter what kind of break you’re facing, you’ve got choices galore.

Dedicated Gaming Device

We’re not suggesting you try to box up the PlayStation or Xbox for your trip away - that’s more of a headache than it’s worth - but we are suggesting you take a device that’s suited for gaming. We don’t mean just stick your standard cellphone in your pocket. Having a dedicated device means you don’t have to worry about those moments when you’ve used up all your main device’s battery while navigating the local area or using translation apps.

There are so many games you can play on a mobile device, this pretty much solves the problem in one hit. Browser games are popular, but you can also go a step further and explore options like those offered by online casinos. Playing mobile poker real money is very popular with a lot of guys, letting them test their bluffing skills and critical thinking in a real environment, against a whole variety of opponents.

Mobile poker, as the name suggests, is ideal for a compact device, whether that’s a smartphone or a tablet. Pick a good provider and you’ll find it has been beautifully scaled to fit on the small screen, with intuitive buttons you can easily reach with your thumbs, and extraneous information folded away neatly into buttons.

And if you’d like a second device for exactly this sort of thing, but you don’t have one yet, did you know that certain casino platforms also sometimes do giveaway competitions for their members?

That could make this a viable option for your next guys’ trip away! This is a great solo activity, but of course, there are multiplayer games available too - so you don’t have to limit yourself to only online poker!

Superfight

Maybe you want a group game everyone can enjoy. You don’t need to look any further than Superfight, a hilarious card game that is gently competitive, but mostly about coming up with the most ridiculous, convincing arguments about who would win in a fight between… well, say a t-rex with flaming antlers in Canada, up against a mermaid with a taser in a potato sack.

The game is very simple; you pick a character and an attribute from your hand and then draw a random attribute, seeing if you can best the next player. Sometimes, you’ll get a really powerful combination - think Darth Vader armed with a laser and a samurai sidekick. Other times, you’re a pacifist with no hands, carrying a puppy. A lot of people find that, while the goal is technically to come up with a winning combination, most of the appeal of this game lies in just being ridiculous and having a great time.

There’s no question, this is a fantastic title to play with your mates when you’re gathered around on a cold evening and looking for something to occupy you. Laughter pretty much comes guaranteed, and this game is very compact, making it ideal for weekends away.

Mini Projector

Maybe you’ve got some favorite shows in your friendship group and you’d like to be able to share them - but nobody wants to crowd around a tiny screen. A mini projector could be the perfect solution. With one of these, you just need a flat surface and a blank wall, plus a device to stream from, and you’ve got an instant cinema in your suitcase.

This totally transforms the movie experience, and if you’ve got a streaming service, it puts pretty much any movie and TV show at your disposal within seconds - always great for evenings following an exhausting day of activities, where you just want to kick back and enjoy something simple. Mini projectors aren’t the cheapest item to add to your guys’ weekend, but they’re a lot more affordable than they used to be, and you could consider pooling with the others on the trip if this is something you all like the idea of!
