  • Hangry in Sin City: Where to Eat Well in Las Vegas

Las Vegas has some of the best food in the entire country and whether or not you are here for a convention, a bachelor party, or simply just to partake in the thrills of "Sin City", you are sure to work up a heck of an appetite. Don't let your hunger ruin the moment though! Fortunately, Las Vegas is filled to bursting with excellent eateries ready to satisfy whatever urges you might have.

  • Four Things You May Not Know About Grey Goose Vodka

If you’ve spent any time in a high-end bar or club, then you’re probably aware that Grey Goose is a brand that essentially invented the ultra-premium vodka market. It was conceived for United States consumers in 1996 by the genius promoter, Sidney Frank, the man behind the success of Jägermeister. The story of a completely new product coming out of nowhere, made popular by celebrities, and bearing a premium price-tag have led many to label Grey Goose a gimmick, or even a scam.
  • Zwack is Wack! It's Time to Try Something New

Sure, I love my bourbon, rum and tequila but sometimes it's fun to step out a bit and try something new. I can't count the number of times I've browsed the aisles of the liquor store wondering about a bottle and I am sure you've done the same. Honestly spending $20-$30 to try something new is a small investment compared to the enjoyment you may receive by discovering a new favorite or event sharing the experience of trying something new with friends.

  • Great Crown Royal Recipes from the Jeff Kyle Brickyard 400

Recently I was hosted by Crown Royal to attend a weekend of fun at the Jeff Kyle Brickyard 400.  During the weekend we were educated by Master of Whiskey (MOW) Stephen Wilson on the Crown Royal distilling process and how they come up with the blends they use in their whiskeys.

  • Cayman Jack and TJ Dogs - a Perfect Combo for a Hot Summer Day

As you've probably figured out, I love my margaritas - simply put, the touch of sweetness from agave nectar and the citrus bite of is one of the most refreshing flavors you can find. Unfortunately, you can't always take margaritas with you since traditionally it involves tequila and that means it isn't available in all the same places as your favorite beer. With Cayman Jack though, since it is a "malt beverage" it's available nationwide in select grocery, convenience, and liquor stores in areas where hard alcohol is prohibited.

  • Seafood & History at the Bluewater Boathouse Coronado

Visitors to Coronado Island are typically familiar with the famous Hotel Del - afterall, it's one of the earliest buildings in the area and set the tone for the next 100+ years as a mecca for beachgoers. What I learned this week, was that just across the road is an even older building that was built a year earlier in 1887. Originally serving as the boathouse for the resort, it now houses a fantastic seafood restaurant that is part of the Bluewater Grill group.

  • Cocktails Inspired by Men's New York Fashion Week

Men's fashion is in vogue these days and top brands are looking to associate themselves more and more with this emerging market. The folks over at BACARDI and Grey Goose even created some recipes inspired by what they saw on the runways and we think they sound delicious! These are two of the cocktails that were served earlier this month at the Men's New York Fashion Week.

  • What's On Tap At Lakefront Brewery?

When planning a guys weekend in Milwaukee, one thing that is likely at the top of your list is to visit a brewery. While most people will assume that means a stop at Miller, there are some incredible craft breweries here in town as well. The one we picked to visit during our Kia TurboCharged Weekend, was Lakefront Brewery and it happens to be one of the older craft breweries in the country.

  • Celebrating Summer with These Awesome 4th of July Cocktails

Happy 4th of July guys! If you haven't already stocked up the bar for the weekend, then now is the time to do it and the great folks at Brown Forman have sent over some tips and recipes to make sure that no one goes thirsty!

These are probably the easiest cocktail recipes you could possibly imagine, so just make sure you have the right supplies and you'll be the Independence Day Hero...

  • Classy Memorial Day Cocktails from DELEON Tequila

Memorial Day weekend is here and that probably means grilling burgers in the backyard and passing around cans of beer while sitting at a picnic table. While that's all fun and good, we think that a holiday weekend deserves something a bit classier, so here are two recipes that are easy to make but will impress your friends.

  • DELEON Tequila Presents The Amante Picante Margarita Recipe

Juan Martinez, the renowned mixologist from LA's newest hotspot restaurant and lounge Toca Madera and formerly of Cecconi's, has fashioned a signature margarita cocktail featuring DELEÓN® Tequila that enhances every aspect of the classic construction with farm-fresh local ingredients to create a flavor profile for the celebrated holiday that's a unique representation of the city of Los Angeles.

The star of the "Amante Picante Margarita" – and the leader of the complete DeLeón Tequila line-up – is the new Platinum. Un-aged and unrivaled in finish, DeLeón Platinum Tequila ($60 MSRP per 750ml), made from 100% Highland agave, is a provocative Blanco with a rich, complex agave honey that is slow-fermented and twice-distilled. Locally-sourced serrano pepper and cilantro add some Mexican spice to this cocktail as a not to LA's significant Mexican population and influence.

  • Let's Get Ready for Cinco De Mayo With Partida's Jacques Bezuidenhout

Tequila in the United States has come a LONG way from the days when it was a rough, cheap spirit that gave you wicked hangovers. Today, there are some spectacular brands out there that are truly world class spirits that are are as good to sip as they are to mix into a cocktail. I've been blessed to have assembled a collection of bottles from press samples that now includes almost a dozen tequilas. Partida though is one of the few that I truly enjoy to share with friends as it is equally good to sip slowly as it is in a margarita.

To learn more about this amazing spirit, we had a chance to chat with Partida's bartender ambassador Jacques Bezuidenhout.

  • Mint Julep Cocktail Recipes to Celebrate The Kentucky Derby!

With the Kentucky Derby almost upon us, it's time to break out our julep cups, crush some ice and mix up some awesome cocktails so we forget how silly those women look wearing their derby hats!

  • Sawgrass Splash - Signature Cocktail of THE Players Championship

Summer is right around the corner, and with the change in the season comes the need for a new, refreshing cocktail. The Sawgrass Splash, the signature cocktail of THE PLAYERS Championship (May 5-10, 2015), takes summertime refreshment to the next level. Perfect for golf fans and cocktail enthusiasts alike, this vodka-based cocktail is made with GREY GOOSE® L’Orange and a tasty blend of simple syrup, lemonade, orange and lime juice. Whether you’re celebrating the 19th hole or tanning by the pool, THE PLAYERS Championship’s Sawgrass Splash is a go-to summer cocktail. It’s even better in person.

  • Let's Combine Two of Life's Most Awesome Things - Milkshakes and Amarula!

Dig out those flip flops and the sunscreen - summer is coming!

As the weather starts to heat up, step up your day drinking with an icy treat made with Amarula Cream, a South African treat made using the fruit of the indigenous marula tree. A decadent tipple, Amarula Cream is light brown in color, creamy on the palate and can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks and in an array of drinks - including boozy shakes!

  • Chocolate and Beer Tasting with Dallmann Chocolates at The Headquarters

A couple months ago, Heather and I visited The Headquarters in San Diego for a fantastic date-night. A couple weeks ago though, we had the chance to spend some more time there at a Chocolate and Beer tastings held at Dallmann Fine Chocolates.  This is just one of the fun ways to spend time at The Headquarters, which is located right downtown next to Seaport Village on Harbor Drive.

  • Flagship Sunday Brunch Cruise on San Diego Bay

Let's just start out by saying that Heather and I had a fantastic time. This brunch cruise was an experience that really is hard to compare since it was three distinct things wrapped up into one happy package. For instance, raise your hand if you've ever done a booze cruise with someone you love? Keep your hand up if you've done a harbor cruise that involved a meal... Ok, now keep you hands up if that food has been great, the service excellent, and the experience was one that you can't wait to do again.  Yeah, not a lot of hands are up still, but that's ok!

You probably haven't had the opportunity to sail with Flagship Cruises out of San Diego before.

The company offers several different cruises ranging from whale watching excursions to sunday brunch, and even a jet boat. However, despite this diversity of types of cruises offered and my initial scepticism that they might be a jack of all trades and master of none, I can heartily recommend it and I will almost certainly go again. Heck, I'd even recommend their other experiences based on this one!

  • Osetra Fish House - San Diego Wine Angels, Raw Bar, and Fresh Seafood

There's no shortage of restaurants in San Diego's Gaslamp quarter, but one category that seems weak (compared to steaks, Italian, etc.) is seafood. Osetra is one of the few in this crowded area, so when I got invited to check it out I was extremely excited for the opportunity. After all, we had already visited it's sister properties Greystone Steakhouse and Osteria Panevino and had fantastic experiences at both of them.

Osetra is owned by the same group as those others, but it is distinctly modern and almost chic compared to the other two, with features like a wine angel who "flies" up and down the two-story wine rack to pick out your selection, an extensive raw bar, and even sushi.

  • Basil Hayden's Bourbon Bacon Sour Cocktail Recipe

Ok guys, I've shared some easy recipes here in the past and there's something to be said for a cocktail recipe that can be shared in 3-4 lines. However, sometimes it's good to try something a little more advanced and that's what I have to share with you today from our friends at Basil Hayden's, part of the Beam Small Batch Collection.

  • Celebrate Mardi Gras Any Time of the Year at Bud's Louisiana Cafe

Heather and I LOVE Mardi Gras - well, actually we just love New Orleans and the spirit of Mardi Gras goes along with that. There is something liberating and fun about a time of year when you can just let loose and celebrate all the good things in life including friends, family, food, and of course drink!

Unfortunately, not everyone can make a trip to New Orleans in person, so the next best thing is to find a great Cajun or New Orleans restaurant near you and celebrate that way. In our case, this meant seeking out Bud's Louisiana Cafe in San Diego. I was a little concerned when I discovered it was located in an industrial park in a suite that would normally have held a logistics office or moving company, but as I've learned about great food down south - never judge something by the exterior appearance.

That was true here as well and I am thrilled that we spent our evening here enjoying authentic New Orleans food and of course Abita beer!
