# Chase The Northern Lights on This Swedish Balloon Tour *By James Hills, mantripping.com — Updated July 2024* Seeing the Northern Lights is a bucket list item for many guys and that includes myself. While I've seen my shares of photos and videos, the time I saw these lights was transformational. It is pure magic. Unfortunately, they can be incredibly elusive. I was privileged to see them in North Dakota but even if you travel to areas above the Arctic Circle, there's no guarantee on any given day. However, the more time you spend, the higher you get, and the farther north you go the more likely you are to see them. That's what this balloon tour over Sweedish Lapland is all about. Beginning December 2020, adventurous travelers will have a new way to experience the Northern Lights in Swedish Lapland: floating into the Arctic skies in a hot air balloon.
