High Camp's Parkside Flask Delivers Refined Functionality

I continue to love seeing High Camp Flasks expand their offerings and partnerships while refining their core concept of insulated flasks. However, I'm just not a fan of drinking wine out of metal glasses. It's a personal thing maybe and I dislike metal cups for pop and water too.

In this situation though, I don't think there's any significant impact to the wine for short periods in a metal flask like this and I acknowledge there are plenty of instances in life where you just can't take a glass bottle. So if you're in that camp then this is a great product to consider as a gift for men in your life that love wine (or just buy one of their flasks in general for a variety of other uses).

For instance, if you're hiking or taking a long bike trip somewhere and want to enjoy your favorite vintage in a beautiful spot where nobody else is, then yeah, a glass bottle just isn't practical and I'm willing to suck it up and sip from a metal cup. For what they do though, High Camp Flasks does a really good job of both design and craftsmanship. I especially love their Parkside collection since it's a little more refined - maybe even feminine a bit - so it doesn't feel out of place on a romantic picnic with your wife or partner compared to some of the other products in their collection.

The narrow neck design requires consideration for cleaning - basic maintenance works well with soapy water and shaking, but wine enthusiasts who prefer thorough brush cleaning or situations where wine has dried inside may find this challenging. For a Cabernet like Mount Veeder's 2022, the 24-hour temperature control proves less critical since this wine serves best at cellar temperature (60-65°F) rather than chilled, making the insulation more about maintaining optimal drinking temperature during outdoor adventures.

For that matter, if you are venturing into the desert this summer and are concerned about keeping your expensive Napa cab at 60 degrees when the outside temperature is 110 ... what the hell are you doing drinking a wine like this in the first place? A cold and refreshing rose would work much better :)

Mount Veeder's 2022 Cabernet Showcases Napa Valley Character

The 2022 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon demonstrates Mount Veeder's commitment to expressive winemaking with 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot. The significant Merlot component adds freshness and plush texture, creating approachable tannins perfect for immediate enjoyment. On the palate, brooding red fruit flavors dominate with soft yet structured tannins, moderate acidity, and a lingering finish featuring black tea and bramble notes. The 19-month aging program creates complexity without overwhelming the fruit character, making this wine ideal for guys trip celebrations or outdoor barbecues where quality matters.
