Cadillac revealed full details surrounding the 2023 Escalade-V — the industry’s most powerful full-size SUV. It is the first-ever Cadillac V-Series SUV — an elevation of design, performance and technology and the purest expression of the passion that exists at the core of Cadillac.Boasting a potent blend of refinement, power and technology, Escalade-V features performance-inspired styling and an unmistakable sound that combine for a head-turning street presence. With these distinctive attributes, the Escalade-V expands the V-Series lineup, now in its fourth generation, which offers more levels of performance while preserving the lineage of the original lineup introduced in 2004.

I can summarize this review of Cadillac's CT5V Blackwing very quickly - if you love power, luxury, and American style then you shouldn't miss out on what is certainly the the last of its kind. The era of big V8 engines pumping out ridiculous amounts of horsepower is closing quickly. Anything approaching this price point (~$100k) and certainly it's level of refinement will almost certainly have some level of electrification. While I can't wait to see what designers and engineers can do with electric motors in the future... it just isn't the same excitement as crushing the pedal on a big V8 and hearing it roar to life in a way that will turn heads... even a couple blocks away.

The Lexus LC 500 is hands down my favorite luxury sports car available today and with the addition of the soft-top convertible it makes it that much better and more enjoyable. While there are other vehicles that boast more horses, more space, more comfort, or other metrics... many of them cost far more and none of them wrap everything in such a perfect package as Lexus does with the LC 500 convertible.

The Lexus RC 350 F-sport is a driving enthusiast’s dream come true. Lexus has been making waves with its beautiful sportscars lately, and this new model is no exception.

Genesis is the new hot thing in the world of affordable luxury vehicles and so there are undoubtedly a lot of compromises when it comes to this space. It's one of those situations where you could compare it to something else out there but that inevitably means adding 10s of thousands of dollars to the sticker price. At the lowest trim levels, the Genesis G80 initially feels like a sexed up Hyundai but as you begin to drive it, you realize that this is indeed something special. As you proceed to higher trim levels though, Genesis as a brand truly takes off into a category of it's own that defies simply being considered "budget luxury".

Cadillac hit it out of the ballpark with the all-new 2021 Escalade. Truthfully, the entire new family from GM has been an absolutely exceptional experience to drive over the past few weeks. While each share a lot of similarities dimensionally, the new Escalade took that package and created a unique experience that makes me even more confident that Cadillac is back. Simply put, while other vehicles that I've driven from the brand this year have been enjoyable... the Escalade 100% represents the brand promise that I have been craving.

When you think of a luxury sports sedan, most likely your mind jumps immediately to brands like BMW, Audi, Mercedes, and Lexus. While American automakers do a great job at building muscle cars the concept of power and sportiness melded together with luxury is simply not something that they are known for. The 2020 Cadillac CT5-V however brings that promise home in a big way.

The 2020 Lexus LC 500 first attracted my attention at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show for it's absolutely stunning "Flare Yellow" color and it's beautiful lines. I didn't know much more about the vehicle other than that, but I knew I wanted to experience it in person as soon as possible. Thankfully, the folks at Lexus had one available. This isn't exactly a road trip kind of car, though I was quite impressed by the size of the trunk and the level of comfort in the cockpit... even for a big guy like me. I've quite literally been all over America on road trips but the last remaining corner of this great country left unexplored with South Florida - until now. Last month, Lexus let me borrow their RX450 Hyrbid for a road trip from Miami to Key West and back. This roughly 350-mile road trip passed through some of Florida's most beautiful landscape and I wanted a vehicle that looked elegant when it pulled up to fancy hotels, fun to drive, had plenty of space for a weekend getaway. Plus, and perhaps most important, it needed to be comfortable even after hours sitting in the seats. Thankfully I was pretty satisfied with all of these after spending five days in and out of the RX450 Hyrbrid!

Everyone has at least one car they would love to own, or at least find themselves behind the wheel of. I have about 100 cars I would like to own, and the 2018 Aston Martin DB11 V8 is one of those vehicles. The DB11 is not practical, economical and certainly not inexpensive. This car drips chic and distinction. Driving this car turned out to be one of my road-going highlights of the past 12 months. The performance and grand touring road experience make this coupe a very livable exotic piece.

However, it is also one of the most time-consuming, tedious, expensive and occasionally frustrating activities one can engage in, and you must be certain that you are ready for the challenges as well as the rewards before committing to a project.

The first few times you come to Vegas, all you can think of overwhelming majesty of the strip. It's a fantastic wonderland of lights, sounds, and sights that you simply can't find anywhere else on earth. After a few visits though, that starts to get more and more shallow and you begin to wonder what lies beyond. The fact is, Vegas is a huge city with more than just the strip to explore. Unfortunately for you and I though, from the moment you land in the airport - everything is designed to pull you and your wallet into one of the gigantic strip resorts.

Volvo as a brand is synonymous with safety, but until recently I didn't necessarily associate it with luxury - I simply just associated safety and European with being expensive. Things have changed over the past few years with the brand however. It is no longer a subsidiary of Ford and their new Chinese owners have provided the Swedish engineers and designers with the freedom to take the brand to the next level. As they go through the transition, various models are at different points on the spectrum - with the XC90 that I absolutely am in love with at one end and the V60 not quite as far down the path of modern luxury.

A short time ago, the concept of a "luxury sedan" from a Korean manufacturer would have been something to scoff at but Hyundai has clearly worked hard to set new standards for quality, comfort, design, technology, and elements of luxury in it's mainstream products over the past several years. As a fan of their entire product line, the one piece I hadn't touched was the Hyundai Genesis sedan... until now!
