Men's Style

  • We all know what is it like to have to strike a balance between keeping warm and cosy through the autumn and winter months without compromising on style and fashion.

  • Love collecting watches but hate paying full price? Watch Gang is a monthly box club for watch geeks like you. Each month, members will get a new watch worth up to 5x the price of your monthly subscription fee of $299, $99, or $29. This is a great gift idea for the guys in your life and frankly it's such a great idea that you might just want to subscribe for yourself! We had the opportunity to review the service and for the $99 Black watch subscription fee I got an awesome Nautis Dive Chrono 500 worth $375. Let's talk more about how Watch Club works...

  • There's a lot of stuff that brands pitch to me to write about (and I appreciate that) but other times there's a great company that stumble across and is so good that I want you guys to know all about it. That's the case with Herschel Supply Company and this amazing Johnny Wallet that my wife gave me.

  • This summer, the folks at Transitions invited me to get a pair of their glasses and test them out. As someone who has been a long time Transitions Signature lenses wearer, I didn't really "need" new glasses but I was curious about the other photochromatic lens technologies that were offered beyond what I already enjoyed. In particular, while I LOVED the flexibility of Signature... it really didn't eliminate my need for true sunglasses and so I ended up still carrying them with me. Transitions XTRActive however, promised to be darker and work better while driving. To test them out and provide an honest review, I've been wearing them exclusively for the past two months. I'm hooked!

  • I love comfortable shoes - especially when they look as good as they feel. That's what I discovered when these shoes arrived a couple weeks ago from the Samuel Hubbard company. While the company has a long and complex heritage stretching back to 1930, and more recently the current CEO is also the co-founder of The Rockport Company - one of my favorite shoe brands years ago. Unfortunately for that brand, it seems to have gotten lost in a convoluted series of mergers and acquisitions over the years. When I slipped the Hubbards on for the first time though, it immediately brought back that same sense of comfort, quality, and style that I used to love in my Rockports years ago.

  • Long before a business trip gets underway, you have a lot of important decisions to make. At the office you’ll be preparing presentations and proposals, but at home you’ve also got to consider how you’ll present yourself. What you pack in your suitcase needs to work for the boardroom as well as socializing after work hours. Because let’s be honest, that’s when a lot of deals are made.

  • I love it when brands send me a new pair of shoes and this is especially true when the samples are well made, good looking and comfortable. All that's true with the Blue Suede Derby shoes that Gambino Alliance sent me to test out.

  • It was Oscar Wilde who uttered the words: “Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months” - and it seems the novelist was right; what’s trendy changes so often, it’s a wonder we all keep up with it!

  • Watches, like ties and socks are one of those rare opportunities for guys to show off their style without being flashy. Well, OK... watches can be flashy and ostentatious too, but generally this is a great opportunity for a guy to be subtle and make an impact only when it slides out of your sleeve and the metal and crystal glints in the sunlight for just a moment or two.

  • Part of the fun of fashion is making a statement and the other half is comfort (with a bit of simply feeling good because you look good!). While browsing the selection of shoes at PF Flyers I saw a ton of different options that looks great. There was a mixture of big bold designs as well as more classic looks.

  • It's tough today for guys - we are told to still be bastions of masculinity, defenders of our families, and all those typically masculine roles we've always been responsible for. Unfortunately, but at almost every intersection we are also told we are to loud, too destructive, too fat, not caring enough etc. Today we are expected to be all the manly stuff, but without the testosterone fueled activities that go along with that. As a result, I feel like a lot of guys are lost but it doesn't have to be that way. Think about it this way. If you plan your life the way you would a trip to Vegas then that's really all you need to think about and the rest will just fall together.

  • Selecting a watch was once as simple as saying "I want the black one". In fact, there's almost no area where innovation has been as core to the industry as watches and clocks. From the early days when accurate timekeeping was critical to navigating a sailing vessel to the new world to today when your watch isn't even really just a timepiece, this industry is amazing. For those of us who love to travel to extreme and exotic locations though, this means that no matter where you are going there is a watch that is perfect to take with you!
