How to Incorporate Healthy Habits into Your Next Guys Trip
When I first presented this idea to some guy friends, they laughed. The response I got was, "why - she already has the whole house to be hers!" While that's true that generally your wife is in control of how things are organized, decorated, and even scented for most of your home - that doesn't mean it is truly a space for HER. Most women... especially those who work from home or are stay-at-home moms certainly don't look at the home as a place where she can relax and enjoy life. While she might organize the kitchen in a certain way... it's often simply so she can get her job done easier.
As someone who's always on the go and has a keen interest in the latest technology and gadgets, I understand the importance of having efficient and effective tools that make everyday tasks simpler. Years ago I didn't think I'd get giggly like a school girl while shopping for appliances or home tech to do my chores. But here I am and a couple months ago when Shark asked if we'd like to check out their CarpetXpert Carpet Cleaner I couldn't wait.
When most people think of smart home technology, it’s just about convenience. Sure, they might have cameras to monitor intruders or movement from kids and pets, but monitoring isn’t security. I had the chance to install the new, Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt recently and I’m impressed. It does everything that a smart device should – easy to use, perfectly integrated with the existing ecosystem, full of features, plus it is both great-looking and built strong enough to do what it was designed for – keeping your family safe.
It’s safe to say that life is always changing. And what was once suitable for you, can often be outgrown. This can be applied to so many areas of life, but one of the most prevalent is your home. From when you first move out of your parent’s home, to when you get your first ‘starter’ home, your needs change. And then, when you have a family, they change again. Even as your family grows you may find that you run out of room pretty quickly. And so, you may want to try and acquire as much space as you can to accommodate that. But when you love where you live, you don’t always want to move. So, adding more space to your home could be more suitable. When you want to add to your curb appeal, this can work too. Let’s take a look at a few options that might help you.
If you’re planning to sell your home, you need to make it presentable first. The success in finding a buyer lies in how your home looks from the curb, otherwise known as curb appeal. People would want to take a closer look if they like what they see from the outside, so it’s best to consider projects that add to your home’s exterior appearance.
When we think about creating a more sustainable future, the first things that come to mind are solar panels and electric cars. However, many people don't realize that there are other things you can do in your home to make your life greener and less wasteful. One way to do this is by installing smart thermostats and energy monitoring sensors in the home. This blog post will discuss why these devices are important for a more sustainable future and what parts of your home can be made more efficient by investing in these sensors.
Searching for home warranty protection can be incredibly challenging. There are almost 200 warranty companies in the US, and each one brings something different to the table. How are you supposed to compare your options and find a plan that covers your appliances and systems, while also working for your budget and your lifestyle?
The backyard is an important part of any home. It's one of the few places in your house where you can breathe fresh air, relax with friends and family, or just enjoy some peace and quiet when you need it. But if your yard doesn't look good, it's not going to be much fun to spend time there! In this blog post we'll share ways that will help upgrade your back yard so that it looks better than ever before!
As a homeowner, you're probably familiar with the idea of an energy audit. But do you know what to expect from one? A home energy audit is like a checkup for your home's energy efficiency – and it can be an eye-opening experience! As Benjamin Franklin famously said, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," and this couldn't be more true when it comes to maximizing your home's energy efficiency. An audit will provide invaluable information on how to make improvements that can save you money in the long run. So let's take a look at what homeowners should expect from a home energy audit.
A few months ago I was really excited... our contractor was putting the finishing touches on our new heat pump unit. We'd selected an advanced model with some pretty cool energy savings features that drew inspiration from the mini-split systems that were common in wall-mounted systems but weren't quite standard yet for systems like ours that were built in. I held my Google Nest thermostat in hand and was excited to have that installed to complete our smart home network. Until the installer shared with me that while Google's tech was great, it was never really designed to offer the full set of features found on our new unit. On the other hand, Sensibo Air PRO was exactly what we needed.

Some of us are lucky enough to have a man cave... and others simply have a garage or den to decorate how you see fit. In the realm of construction, understanding concrete pouring methods is vital. There is a trend on social media right now to show how easy it is to dry pour concrete projects instead of investing in machinery (or even rentals) that are designed to properly blend water with the concrete powder before pouring it in the forms. For some folks dry pouring works as an alternative to wet pouring... but the reality is if you really care about how well your project with turn out and you aren't already an experienced mason or concrete finisher then you should probably leave it to the trained professionals.
Garage doors are a part of your house that you don't really appreciate... till it stops opening. When that happens, it's almost like you are trapped since unlike a door in any other part of your house, chances are this is the one and only way to get your car and other large items in and out of the garage. Fixing it can be expensive and dangerous, but here's what you can do to determine if this is something easy to fix or will you need professional help.
If you are interested in making the design of your home better, you can consider using a skirting board. Skirting boards are used when you want to remodel your home. Skirting boards have been in use for a very long time. They make homes look expensive, protect the walls from furniture damage, and also create decorations. When you want to design your interior, you should go for the best in the market. Below are some features that you should check before you purchase skirting boards in the market.
Home decore is something that many guys leave to their wives and partners but it can actually be a very fun step in transforming your house into a home. As we continue to renovate our new condo in Michigan, I've become very engaged in picking out new flooring, paint, and other elements but it's just as important to think about decorating tips as well. For instance, what art will go on my office wall and what lighting will I have to illuminate the space.
When it comes to products designed to help around the home, there are a lot of options out there that range from cool looking gadgets that don't really work to practical ones that are rather mundane. That's a challenge for anyone looking to buy something as a gift for those special men in their lives. On one hand, you can pick something that just looks cool - or you can get him something that he will actually be able to use and appreciate. Luckily, the Sidekick Stool and Blade Light that we received has the best of both categories.
Rattlesnakes! If you live in the western part of the United States, chances are you've had to watch out for them in your backyard and thought about how to protect your family. One of the most important things you can do to protect your home and family is to rattlesnake proof your yard. It's a task that requires planning, hard work, and constant diligence. With a little help though, it's something that you can get done on a spring afternoon and you'll look like a badass on Monday morning around the water cooler when you tell your friends how you spent the weekend.
Fall is typically not a season that triggers that sort of alarm. However, bear in mind that as the summer heat dissipates to make way for the fall season, it’s bound to get colder as the months pass. Indeed, in no time at all, it’s winter.
