The Florida Keys have been a destination for guys looking to get away from it all for generations. Hawaii has a reputation of being a destination for a romantic getaway or a family vacation - and it would be great for that of course. However, on our adventure road tripping around the Big Island of Hawaii, I found a lot that guys would enjoy here too. Unfortunately, I was only here for a few days, so I didn't get a chance to do everything that I saw - amazing golf, off road adventures, and laval boat tours to see the molten rock oozing from the earth into the ocean. Then, once you do visit, there's almost a feeling that you should keep it secret so that it doesn't become more expensive, more crowded, and less awesome. That's how I felt when I visited Punta Gorda Florida last fall, but don't worry - I'm ready to share with you why it's is a perfect mancation destination for guys.

There are a lot of places in the United States where you can go fly fishing, but after dropping my fly in the Missouri River a few hundred times last month I'm convinced that Montana is one of the best. It has a unique combination of beautiful vistas, plentiful fish, diversity of waterways, and the infrastructure to support the industry with equipment, guides, and community. While the mountain streams in the west get the most attention for their abundant trout, don't forget about the prairies in the east since from edge to edge, this state is among best in the nation when it comes to opportunities for an incredible fly fishing experience.

In the more than nine years since I created ManTripping.com, I've written a ton of posts talking about the "top mancation ideas". It's also the most frequently asked question when I talk with media about men's travel trends. Surprisingly, it's often women and my female friends who are the most interested in the answers - often because they are planning a trip for their partners and want to do something special that they will love. While mancations are by definition a male group activity, increasingly couples and friends are seeking out experiential travel instead of buying possessions. In other words, instead of a gold watch to celebrate retirement guys are celebrating with an incredible man-friendly adventure vacation.

Unfortunately though, I've never actually had quantifiable answers to provide and everything has been extremely subjective. To help solve this problem, in partnership with the men's influencer network #MenWhoBlog, I commissioned a survey based on six of the top mancation types that come up regularly on my site.
