Hemlock Neversink is a 230-acre resort in the Catskills built on a premise that sounds like a gimmick until you read the activity calendar: summer camp, for adults. The property just announced its biggest expansion since it opened in 2023, headlined by a 53-foot Alpine Tower strung with climbing walls, cargo nets and suspended challenge-course elements. Add beekeeping workshops, Mahjong weekends and a spa with an indoor pool and a steam room, and you have a place engineered for guys who remember being twelve with a paddle in their hands and would like to feel that way again.

I've been to St. Kitts a few times now, and every visit came off a cruise ship - the first years ago on Carnival, the most recent last fall aboard Virgin Voyages' Brilliant Lady. A port day buys you about six hours ashore, which is enough to see that St. Kitts is beautiful and nowhere near enough to use it. This is the twin-island guys trip I keep promising myself I'll book properly.

Destin works for a guys trip for one simple reason: the deep-water fishing is a short run off the beach, the golf is genuinely good, and the Gulf really is that shade of green - all within a fifteen-minute drive of each other. For a group that never agrees on anything, that combination is rare. The only way to blow it is to spend the weekend crammed into a couple of hotel rooms.

Staying sober is easier at home, where your routines and the people around you quietly do half the work for you. Take yourself out of that on a solo trip and every choice is suddenly yours alone - which is what makes traveling by yourself one of the best low-stakes ways to practice the sober living skills that hold up in the real world. This isn't therapy, and it isn't a stand-in for real recovery support. It's a clear head, an unfamiliar place, and a week of small decisions that prove a good time doesn't have to come out of a bottle.

Israel is the kind of place that turns visitors into residents. Plenty of people go for a trip, whether that is off-roading in the backcountry or a few nights in a Tel Aviv hotel, and come home unable to shake the idea of actually living there. Acting on that idea has a name: Aliyah, the process of immigrating and gaining citizenship under Israel's Law of Return, first passed in 1950. This is a clear, practical look at what making Aliyah entails, from who qualifies to what new immigrants receive, to whether you get to keep the passport you already hold.

Renting the right car for an Iceland road trip comes down to a few calls you make before you land: the size of the vehicle, the insurance you add, and whether you go electric or gas. Most guys pour hours into the route and about four minutes into that decision, and it's backwards, because the car you book shapes the trip more than any single waterfall on the map. Get car rental in Iceland right and the whole drive gets easier; get it wrong and you're arguing with a rental desk in Keflavik while your buddies wait in the cold.
