Travel ideas for mancations, guys weekends, and romantic getaways
  • Thanks to its glamour, glitz and endless entertainment options, Dubai is a favorite vacation spot for all sorts of tourists from all parts of the world.  Despite some people's fear of safety for women while exploring the middle east, Dubai is actually relatively western and open in this regard. Here are some of our top picks for how to spend your time on a romantic getaway in Dubai.

  • We were on hand this week for the opening of Willows Hotel & Spa, but I look forward to being able to return to fully experience the resort - especially the spa, pool deck, and restaurants on our own. However, from the brief time we did spend on property and our stay in one of their Escape Suites, this is the perfect destination for anyone in San Diego that is looking for a getaway where there will be no kids. It's the perfect distance from downtown, easy to get to, and delivers a full suite of luxury, spa, pool, food, and all the action you'd expect from a casino resort. Oh yeah, and there's also some of the best outlet shopping in San Diego.

  • Here's our picks for the best lad's holiday destinations from around the world. When you are picking a place to go, it's important to pick something fun and exciting with "just the right amount" of debauchery to have fun - but not get arrested!

  • Looking for a cool way to escape the Vegas heat? How about taking a break inside a bar that is essentially a block of ice chilled to -5 Centigrade (23 Fahrenheit)... Combine that with parkas or fur jackets and cocktail glasses molded from ice and you have quite an experience. Here's what to expect when you visit the Minus5 Experience Ice Bar at Mandalay Bay.

  • Are you planning your next lads holiday to Europe but you're looking for something new and unique that your other friends haven't already explored? Estonia might be what you are looking for. This former Soviet republic is located just across the Baltic Sea from Sweden and has an intriguing mixture of modern adventure and historic charm and traditions that are all packed into a relatively small territory.

  • The Gulf Coast of Florida is one of the most beautiful and amazing places in the country to visit. It's a playground for those who love to celebrate all the great things that the water can bring, without worrying about rough waves. The folks at Visit Bradenton invited me and a few of my best friends on a trip recently to Anna Maria Island and Bradenton, Florida to check it out. Here's some of the awesome fun we had while visiting the area.

  • A convertible is something special that almost begs to be driven somewhere special. That's what we did recently when Buick dropped off their new Cascada and said "have at it!". The following are some of our favorite road trips in San Diego that are perfect for enjoying with the top down.

  • Adventure-seekers looking for some singletrack that not everyone else has discovered yet will want to check out Sweetwater County in Southwest Wyoming. Home to the towns of Green River and Rocks Springs – and surrounded by 10,500 square miles of high desert country – Sweetwater County is a perfect place to blaze a trail on a hard tail or full-suspension bike.

  • Aside from the destination itself, deciding where to stay is probably the most important thing to determine. Typically for me this has ended up being a hotel room or a resort villa but another great solution for a group is a vacation rental such as the one we stayed in on Anna Maria Island, Beachy Villa Vista provided to us by Island Real Estate.

  • Deep under the earth is a dark and mysterious place where stories become legends and boys become men. It's hard to imagine working thousands of feet under the earth in conditions that could instantly become deadly. But that's where men have toiled for centuries to bring the wealth of the earth to those of us on the surface. From coal mines in England to Gold mines in Nevada, now you have the opportunity to explore them too!

  • Florida is one of my favorite places to visit and it is filled with hundreds of golf resorts, beautiful beaches, incredible food, and in the past few years a beer scene that has gained national recognition. When planning your Florida golf guys weekend though, it's important to pick the right places, so here's a few of our top picks.

  •

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Don Q rum. All opinions are 100% mine.

Puerto Rico is a fantastic place to visit and one that is shockingly close to the mainland United States... but feels like it is a world away. Aside from the fact that it has all the great things that make the Caribbean so wonderful, since it is part of the United States there is no need for a passport if you want to visit. From rum tours to diving, hiking in the rain forest or paddling through bioluminescent waters this island is absolutely one you need to visit this year!

  • While summer is often considered the prime road trip season, I love to explore new places all year round. Road trips in particular, are a great way to see the places between the places and experience new local cultures, traditions and more. Here are some of my favorite holiday road trip ideas from around the country.

  • For those of us who have the privilege of exploring the world, few places remain where your buddies can't say "oh yeah, I went there last year!" when you suggest a destination. The middle east though, and in particular the gulf states however, still maintain a mystique and sense of adventure that you will not be able to find in other parts of the world.

  • Vermont is surprisingly a pretty awesome state for foodies and while I knew of Ben & Jerry's factory tour I was surprised to find oh so much more. From maple syrup to apples to dairy, this state has a lot to offer anyone seeking a different sort of food tour experience. Here's some of our favorite stops...

  • Blue crabs are a delicacy that is often synonymous with Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay areas of Virginia. In reality though, pretty much everywhere along the East and Gulf Coasts of the United States where you can find coastal marsh land there will be crabs. This includes the Peace River in Punta Gorda Florida where Peace River Seafood is found. As I sat there with the owner shucking oysters, popping tails off shrimp and picking meat from crabs fresh caught that morning, it brought back childhood memories of doing the same. Unfortunately, not everyone is as privileged as I was to have grown up with fresh crabs, so here's a primer on how to eat blue crabs...

  • While I love resort courses with flowers and fancy features, being able to spend some time surrounded by natural Florida beauty on one of the state's top courses was truly an honor. Riverwood Golf Club golf course has been ranked as one of the "Top Ten Places to Play in the US" by Golf Digest in 2002, ranked #15 for top courses in Florida in 2015 and voted #1 in Florida based on customer reviews on GolfAdvisor.com and we agree that it is a great spot to visit for any guys trip to Punta Gorda and Charlotte Harbor.

  • Wild Turkey has a great distillery experience that is also one of the newest. Visitors will get a chance to go "Behind the Barrel" like I did as their guest, but in a much abbreviated fashion. However, for bourbon fans this is a great opportunity to learn, taste, smell, and see one of the greatest bourbons in the country right now.

  • When it comes to mancation in Australia, Melbourne is surely a great choice of destination for all those men who are looking forward to have some fun with their friends. Melbourne has an urban setting, luxury hotels offering upscale amenities, great outdoor activity opportunities and even unique golf settings. Here are some top ideas for your next mancation in Melbourne.

  • Last weekend Victor from Male Standard joined me on a road trip from Atlanta to Nashville in an incredibly fun Titan XD truck. Along the way we ate BBQ, drank beer and whiskey (while not driving!), threw axes, and celebrated the boys of fall starting with the College Football Hall of Fame and ending in the Nissan Suite for a Titans game in Nashville.
